Graduates of this program will be able to:

- Understand the relationships shared by the teacher assistant and the various school team members
- Examine the integration of the literacy skills as part of the curriculum and school success
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal, and professional skills

Notes:
(1) Students interested in early childhood should select EDEC courses
(2) Field experience is recommended. Students who have completed EDEC105 or EDUC105, with a grade of "B" or better, are required to complete 60 hours of observation in an approved academic setting to ensure transferability of EDEC105 or EDUC105 to a four-year institution. EDEC199/EDUC199 is required for licensing and acceptance into university Education programs. The Education Department of Brookdale highly recommends that the field experience be taken while at Brookdale for students wishing to transfer into Teacher Education programs at the university level and for Teaching licensing requirements.
