The student will identify the characteristics of special children and will develop programs to meet the needs of these children. The student will observe special education programs presently functioning in Monmouth County. Units include mild cognitive impairment, learning disability, giftedness, physical handicaps and emotional disorders. This course is of interest to parents of special needs children as well as those interested in a career in education.
