Human Geography

Course Description

Human geography examines the interplay between humans, culture, and space. The discipline of human geography provides an analytical lens through which we can interpret the interplay between humans and non-human worlds. The course will examine the degrees of how humans universally make sense of their spatial world, and how culture influences one's creation and conceptualization of space and spatial relationships. As a broad introduction to the discipline, the course will provide an overview of relevant topics such as migration, culture, language, religion, race and ethnicity, economics, politics and more. Importantly, the course will examine the local and global nature of human geographic studies.
