Program Description

This option is designed for the student who is planning to transfer to a four-year institution and for the student who desires two years of collegiate liberal education. There is flexibility in course selection enabling students to select courses that meet requirements of their desired transfer institution and/or explore personal interests.

Graduates of this program will be able to:

- Communicate effectively in both speech and writing
- Analyze works in the fields of art, graphic design, communications media, dance, English, Journalism, music, speech, theater, and/or gain competence in the use of a foreign language
- Recognize the importance of a global perspective and culturally diverse people
- Examine ethical issues and situations
- Understand the vocabulary, methods, and the major concepts explored within the Humanities

Requirements

General Education: 45-48 Credits

As described in the General Education section of the catalog and listed below:

Career Studies: 12 Credits

From selected courses in Art, Graphic Design, Communications Media, Dance, English, Journalism, Languages, Music, Speech, Theater, and course. (Note: 200 level course selected from career studies option is recommended.)

Electives: 0-3 Credits

Total Credits Required for Degree: 60

Suggested Sequence

The following sequence is an example of how this degree can be completed in two years. This sequence is based on completion of all Foundational Studies requirements and prerequisites and presumes a Fall Term start date. An individual’s program may vary depending on transfer institution, career objectives, or individual needs. See a counselor for other options and to monitor your progress.
