Program Description
This certificate of achievement in fashion design is intended to provide students with job specific education and skills for advancement in the fashion industry. Graduates of this program can move on to careers in apparel design, product development, costume design, retail, freelance work, and other entrepreneurial opportunities. They may work in wholesale or manufacturing establishments, apparel companies, or retailers.
Graduates of this program will be able to:
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of the fashion industry from concept to consumer
- Demonstrate techniques and use of materials required to construct sewn products
- Demonstrate an understanding of the interrelationships between the consumer and the primary, secondary, retailing, and auxiliary segments of the fashion industry
- Create designs using industry standard CAD software and components
