Program Description

Today's graphic communications depend on computers for nearly all steps in the creative process. This certificate is a comprehensive CAD curriculum, from fundamental to complete customization, including 3D design and visualization. The courses are designed to enable graduates of Architecture and Interior Design programs along with professionals to remain current in the marketplace.

Graduates of this program will be able to:

- Utilize design principles to develop digital drawings for Architecture and Interior Design
- Create and plot architectural drawings using a variety of computer-aided drafting software programs
- Apply the concepts of 3D and modeling in CADD (Computer Aided Design and Drafting) and BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology

Requirements

Career Studies: 15 Credits as Follows:

  • course - Introduction to Digital Media Credits: 3

  • course - Drafting and Graphic Presentation for Interior Design Credits: 3

  • course - Drawing Techniques in Digital Media Credits: 3 or course - Fundamentals of Construction Documents Credits: 3

  • course - 3D Architectural CAD Credits: 3 (ARCH225 - 3D Architectural CAD Credits: 3)

  • course - CAD for Interior Design Credits: 3

Total Credits: 15
