This course is an accelerated, one semester course designed to help students improve their reading skills and study strategies to effectively handle the demands of college courses. Students will learn to analyze text and apply appropriate study/learning strategies. The application of skills is required each week in a scheduled Reading Lab. A strong emphasis will be placed on students to use a personal computer to complete classwork. By successfully completing this course, students will satisfy their basic skills requirement in reading. This developmental course will not be counted toward degree requirements. (Prerequisites: None. Placement is based on scores on college placement test)
