MUSI162

This course is designed as a continuation of MUSI 161, with added emphasis on individual study. Specific areas of discussion will include understanding and reading rhythms, learning to improve using major, minor and pentatonic scales and modes, as well as understanding harmony in a variety of musical styles. Students will do final projects arranging, composing, or performing songs, including those found in today's popular music. Attendance at one Brookdale concert is required. (Prerequisite: A grade of "C" or higher in MUSI 161, approval of instructor, and fluency on an instrument)
