Clinical Microbiology II and Immunology
Course Description
This course is a continuation of Clinical Microbiology I and will explore analytical methods and strategies used to identify clinically significant organisms. The student will acquire an understanding of the immune system, immunoglobulin, the complement system, the basic immunologic techniques used in the immunology laboratory, and clinical laboratory diagnostic tests used in infectious and autoimmune diseases. In this course the student will also learn about the diagnosis and treatment of immunologic diseases, viral infections, and acquired immunodeficiency states.
