Issues in Women's and Gender Studies
Course Description
This course provides an introductory exploration of the interdisciplinary field of Women's and Gender Studies and includes analysis of human lives and experiences through readings in a wide range of topics from scholarship as well as creative texts and media on gender and sexuality. Students will work with a variety of primary and secondary sources, a combination of literary and non-fiction texts, both classic and contemporary, in order to develop written reflections and engage in class discussions that consider and analyze the impact of gender and its intersections on the human experience. Students will have the opportunity to choose to complete a service-learning project throughout the semester or complete a final research project.
