Energy and the Environment

Course Description

This course will introduce the student to the history of energy resources and current fossil fuel use. In addition, various forms of sustainable energy will be discussed including hydroelectric power, solar energy, wind energy, and biomass energy. There will be a focus on the efficiencies of various energy technologies. Obstacles and solutions for widespread implementation of renewable energy will be examined, as well as positive and negative environmental impacts. (Prerequisites: ENVR-107 or ENVR-108)
