Women's Perspectives in Literature

Course Description

This course is an introductions to literature written by women from diverse backgrounds, time periods, and gender expressions. Students will read a variety of literary forms including the novel, short stories, poetry, drama, essays, and literary theory. Through literary analysis, class discussions, and written assignments, students will explore women's significant contributions to the literary canon as well as their history of overcoming challenges in getting their works published, which directly impacted their ability to make their perspectives known.
