Electrical Circuits for Power Distribution II

Course Description

This course is specifically designed for students in the Electric Utility Technology Program. At the conclusion of this course, the student will be able to analyze complex AC circuits comprised of resistors, capacitors, and inductors, and use the j operator (complex algebra) to calculate impedance, currents, voltages, and phase angles. The student will be able to use standard laboratory test equipment such as the oscilloscope, VOM, DMM, audio generator, frequency counter and others to measure and verify calculated values. Note: This course is offered only in the Fall term. (Prerequisites: a grade of "C" or higher in ELEC 103 and ELEC 131)
