Human Resource Management

Course Description

Students will recognize the basic terminology of Human Resource Management. They will identify the functional areas of HRM including job analysis, recruitment, selection, orientation, training, performance appraisal, benefits, labor relations, employee health and safety and diversity management. Students will identify the major elements of a Human Resource manual, perform a job analysis and construct a job description and job specification. Students will utilize basic computer software and internet to manage their course projects. They will practice communication skills necessary to perform Human Resource Management functions. NOTE: This course is offered only in the Fall term. (Prerequisite: BUSI 105 or permission of instructor)
