This option is designed for transfer to a four-year college with a major in writing and/or literature. Students in this option take writing and courses concerned with specific areas of literature, coupled with liberal arts studies. Four-year English graduates enter widely diverse professions, among which may be teaching, copywriting, editing and publishing.

Graduates of this program will be able to:
- Identify and understand the characteristics of literary forms and genres
- Utilize a college vocabulary to identify and interpret stylistic and technical features of literary texts
- Think and write critically about various types of literary texts and support an analysis with specific textual evidence
- Think and write critically about literary texts within a cultural or historical framework

The following sequence is an example of how this degree can be completed in two years. This sequence is based on completion of all Foundational Studies requirements and prerequisites and presumes a Fall Term start date. Bachelor’s Degree Through Brookdale
