Game Programming Option, Digital Animation and 3D Design, A.A.S.

This option is designed for students who are interested in the programming segment of game development. The emphasis is on developing the skills required to design, code and test programs which will ultimately become the backbone of an electronic game. This includes fundamental programming concepts as well as those demanded to develop interactive games.

Graduates of this program will be able to:
- Understand the reiterative process of rendering movies
- Understand the principles of workflow and file management as related to the animation industry
- Understand the principles of compositing and editing
- Create geometry for characters, props, and backgrounds
- Create materials and lights for characters and scenes
- Create animations for objects, characters, and effects
General Education - 20-22 credits
As described in General Education including the following required general education course: Career Studies - 39 credits as follows:
A grade of “C” or higher must be earned in all career studies courses in order to complete this program. Technical Electives - 3 credits from among the following:
Total credits required for degree: 62-64

The following sequence is an example of how this degree can be completed in two years. This sequence is based on satisfaction of all Foundational Studies requirements and prerequisites and presumes a Fall Term start date.
