The Certificate in Accounting is career-oriented in nature. Students will be awarded a Certificate of Proficiency in Accounting with particular emphasis on computer applications. An internship with an existing employer or with a Brookdale-arranged employer can be used for 3 elective credits.

Program learning outcomes:
Graduates of this program will be able to:
- Analyze economic events of a business entity
- Communicate the economic events in the form of general purpose financial statements including:
- income statements
- retained earnings statements
- balance sheets
- cash flow statements
General Education - 9 credits
The following General Education courses are recommended for students choosing this Certificate. Career Studies - 15 credits as follows:
A grade of “C” or higher must be earned in all career studies courses in order to complete this program.
