This option is designed for transfer to a four-year college with a major in writing and/or literature. Students in this option take writing and courses concerned with specific areas of literature, coupled with liberal arts studies. Four-year English graduates enter widely diverse professions, among which may be teaching, copywriting, editing and publishing. |
Graduates of this program will be able to:
- Identify and understand the characteristics of literary forms and genres
- Utilize a college vocabulary to identify and interpret stylistic and technical features of literary texts
- Think and write critically about various types of literary texts and support an analysis with specific textual evidence
- Think and write critically about literary texts within a cultural or historical framework
