Business Administration Program, Accounting Option, A.A.

This program is for students planning to transfer to four-year colleges to earn Bachelor’s degrees with accounting or financial concentrations and to sit for the Certified Public Accountant examination, when eligible. Bachelors of Accounting may work in finance, banking and commerce or they may go into business for themselves. This option couples accounting and business management courses with the general education studies required to transfer to four-year colleges.
NOTE: Four-year colleges accredited by the American Collegiate Schools of Business may require demonstration of proficiency for selected 200-level courses.

Graduates of this program will be able to:
- Analyze economic events of a business entity
- Communicate economic events in the form of a general purpose financial statement including:
- income statement
- retained earnings statement
- balance sheet
- cash flow statement
- Demonstrate ethical/professional responsibility in the analysis and disclosure of an entity’s economic event
General Education - 45-48 credits

The following general education courses are recommended for students choosing this program. Career Studies - 12 credits as follows:
A grade of “C” or higher is required in career studies courses. Total credits required for degree: 60

The following sequence is an example of how this degree can be completed in two years. This sequence is based on satisfaction of all Basic Skills requirements and prerequisites and presumes a Fall Term start date. An individual’s program may vary depending on transfer institution, career objectives, or individual needs. See your counselor for other options and to monitor your progress. This is a preferred Associate degree for students planning to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting at Brookdale’s New Jersey Coastal Communiversity.
