CHEM294 - Independent Chemistry Research Credits: 4-6 Lab: 12-18 hrs/week - 15 week semester Prerequisite(s): A grade of “C” or higher in CHEM 101 and permission of Chemistry Department Chair. Corequisite: CHEM 295
Description: Students engage in independent research under the direction of a faculty mentor. This course is an opportunity for approved students to conduct scientific experiments in a research laboratory. Students will be paired with a research mentor and will conduct research in support of the mentor’s ongoing research projects. Special permission from chemistry department chair is required. Students are required to take CHEM 295 for a minimum of 1 credit as a corequisite to this course to support an introduction to literature research and a final presentation of the research project.
