Active Duty Military

The Veterans Center provides services to active duty military and their dependents. Military personnel and their dependents who reside in Monmouth County or on a military installation within the county are considered residents of Monmouth County for tuition purposes, even if they have not met the state and county residence requirements. You will be required to show proof of Active Duty orders or residency on a military installation within the county for the in-county rate.

The Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008 requires that admitted or enrolled students who leave school to serve on active duty with the armed forces be readmitted or re-enrolled with the same academic standing as when they left. Students called to Active Duty during the semester should be prepared to provide a copy of their military orders to the VA Certifying Official so that their classes can be dropped for a full refund or other arrangements can be discussed.  It is the student’s responsibility to make sure they provide this information to the College, an important step of their pre-deployment, prior to their date of departure and/or training.
