Counseling Techniques

Course Description

Students will study and practice basic strategies for helping within the context of interviewing, individual and group counseling. Competency will be evaluated through the use of videotapes, discussion, and participation in class activities. Students will spend 40 hours in an internship dedicated to the human services, during which direct practice will take place. (Prerequisites: PSYC-105 or PSYC-106;a grade of "C" or better in PSYC-111; or permission from the instructor)
