Music Theory/Songwriting 1
Course Description
This course will examine compositional elements used in songwriting, including chord construction and progression, form/structure, rhythm/meter, instructions/cadences, harmonic analysis, modulations, and lyric composition and placement. These techniques will be studied by an analysis and application of examples taken from various musical genres, including jazz, folk, rock, country, Broadway, and classical music.
