EOF Service Leadership II

Course Description

Student participants in the EOF Rising Leaders Academy, a Federal Work Study supported two semester service-based civic engagement program, explore local and global issues of choice as they participate in team focused and project-based learning through community service, issue advocacy, and public education activities. In comparison to the fall program, spring participants have increased responsibility for service project management assignments, including serving as an RLA liason to organizations worked with, while leading/coordinating projects. In addition, participants are responsible for recruiting student volunteers for selected projects. Students who are not a part of the fall program must apply for acceptance to the spring program, be accepted, and may then register for the spring program. Students must have an interest in organizing and participating in projects which address varied social issues, including hunger, homelessness, environmental sustainability, civil and human rights, diversity relations, and increasing civic engagement within our communities.
