Business Comm: Writing to Influence

Course Description

This course empowers students with skills essential to crafting compelling messages that inform, persuade, and engage diverse audiences across ever-evolving mediums. Exploring the intersection of language and identity, students learn to strategically communicate brand identity, values, missions, and goals via language, grammar, visuals, and research. This course equips students with tools to recognize and resonate with target audiences, foster engagement, provide clear direction, and drive meaningful action in digital, professional, and corporate landscapes. Through theoretical study and hands-on practice, students will gain the confidence and proficiency to influence audiences and achieve professional goals. Students will practice effective contribution in and to a diverse environment, as expected in business and social environments, while developing and honing skills to produce clear, concise, impactful content for traditional and digital artifacts. Students will examine the differences between these forms and learn their expectations.
