Students will read and discuss short stories from diverse cultures and different time periods. They will learn how to analyze elements of fiction and identify literary devices to develop a deeper understanding of short fiction. The relevance of multiple perspectives will be examined through oral and written discussion of texts. Through the study of the short story, students will explore universal themes and gain insight into the world around them.
