Course Description
This course will introduce our students to Southeast Asia's earliest artistic traditions formed between 2600 BCE and 500 CE. Course Units in Part 1 of this course address South and Southeast Asia's advances to the Modern World. Part 2 of our course covers China from the Neolithic Period and First Empires to its period of Modernization from 1912 to present times. Part 3 addresses Korean Art from Prehistory to the Present; Japanese Art from Prehistory to the Asuka Period; the Nara and Heian Periods; Kamajura, Muromachi, and Momoyama Periods; and from the Edo Period to the Present.
