Cybersecurity Academic Credit Certificate of Achievement - CYBSEC

This short program is intended to train students in the high-demand area of Cybersecurity.  The target audience for this certificate of achievement includes professionals already working in IT that are hoping to add security skills and knowledge to their education, as well as recent Brookdale graduates seeking to build upon their Networking Information Technology A.A.S. degree.  The certificate is designed to provide students with a broad understanding of network and computer security combined with depth of study in the domains of penetration testing, digital forensics, and secure configuration.

Graduates of this program will be able to:


  • Employ digital forensic methodology and labs to collect, seize, analyze and protect digital evidence
  • Assess, manage and monitor command perimeter security technologies such as firewalls and VPNs
  • Analyze systems and networks using common information gathering tools and techniques
  • Perform incident handling by using appropriate methods

Requirements


Career Studies 12-18 credits as follows:


A grade of “C” or higher must be earned in all career studies courses in order to complete this program.

Notes:


(1) NETW 106 and NETW 110 provide foundational skills for the certificate and are required prerequisites for NETW 236.  Students who can demonstrate the requisite networking skills and/or certifications may be waived from these two courses.
